Deputy of Public Health is responsible for discovering present and future health-care needs of the population undercover, supervising over the health care services rendered at the first and second levels, as well as referring patients to higher-level services, improving the quality of services, and solving health problems of the society. This Office is in charge of planning for expansion of health-care centers, providing easy access to these services, running studies to detect the endemic, epidemiologic and regional diseases, identifying and classifying health problems of the region undercover, developing and performing related applied research, supplying the needs of the affiliated health centers and supervising their functions, collecting, classifying and analyzing data needed for health programs, and systematic evaluation of such programs.

This deputy has five main directorates of

• Environmental and Professional Health Management

• Family Health Management

• Network Management

• Mental Health Management

There are also three technical groups of: 1- Nutrition Department 2- Communication Training Group 3- Disaster Risk Reduction Management. Currently, in addition to the nine headquarters of the provincial health center and their subunits, 68 urban health centers, 86 rural health centers, 30 urban health bases, 11 rural health bases and 571 active health care houses, With 200 doctors, 157 midwives, 122 nurses, 144 family health care providers, 107 Disease control workers, and 103 environmental health workers, and 1112 rural health care providers (Behvarz), provide health care services to people in their area. In addition, a total of 2145 urban and rural health volunteers are also involved in the Province.
