This center was established a long time ago in 1923 with the name of Bouali psychiatric center under the supervision of the Hamedan municipality only for admission of psychiatric patients and was one of the first private psychiatric hospitals in the country. In 1945, with the construction of a new building, it started operating in the five neighboring provinces (Lorestan, Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Khuzestan, and Ilam) with a total of 85 staff and a large number of psychiatrists and changing the name to the Sina Psychiatric Hospital.
The present 200-beds psychiatric hospital was built in May 2007 after the destruction of the old psychiatric hospital, with a generous donation of Farshchian Foundation in the city of Hamadan in the area of 21,000 at the shortest possible time. In appreciation of this donation, Sina Hospital was renamed to Farshchian Hospital.
The center has four psychiatric departments (two wards of psychiatry for women and two wards for men), two libraries (one for personnel and one for patients), a full-service medical center, psychiatric clinic, pharmacy, a fully equipped gymnasium room and recreation, conference hall, classroom for Interns and residents training, research center, counseling and psychology center, meeting room for patients to see their visitors outside the department, self-service restaurant and fully equipped kitchen for staff and laundry service.
This center operates by six psychiatrists, two psychiatric residents, two psychiatric nurses, four occupational therapists, 10 nurses, and five psychologists working on a daily basis. Currently, the hospital is unique in the country.
