Medical Emergency Services was established with the mission of providing emergency medical services around the country in normal conditions and incidental accidents using combined methods, through quantitative and qualitative upgrades of infrastructure and provision of skilled and experienced human resources. The provision of the services is for everybody from every nationality inside or outside of the country.
This center tries to achieve the highest model of Emergency Services in order to prevent and reduce the risk of incidents, disasters and unexpected hazards, and provide effective response with logical scheduling as well as preparation, responsiveness, satisfaction, safety and public health, death and disabilities prevention with the approach of medical and health standards, reduction of complications from accidents and disasters and applied medical emergencies and national coverage as the best regional model and global impact with a research-based and educational-specialized approach.
Emergency department of Hamedan started to work with 30 employees at the beginning of 1978 and after a six-month training course in the Tehran Emergency Department. Till the end of 2005, following the improvement of this department, there were 16 provincial city and road bases with 20 ambulances, 120 operational workforce and three employees at the headquarters of the province. Since the beginning of 2005, with the establishment of the Center for Medical Emergency and Accident management and joining of Emergency Department 115 and the Guiding Headquarters in clinical administration of the University of Medical Sciences, the activities of this center entered a new stage.
In September2007 this department transferred to its new place with a physical space of 800 square meters, including administrative affairs, public relations, finance, warehouse and logistics, archives, secretariat, educational and research experts, statistics, crisis response, medical equipment, private ambulance cases and complaints handling.
The center currently has 51 bases in Hamadan province, covering by 350 workforce and professional personnel to provide relief services at the level of cities and roads of the province. 85 ambulances, Mobile Operation room Buses, Ambulance Buses, Night Voyage Helicopter and wide area wireless communication over the province via the familiar phone number of 115 at 24 hours all the year.
